History

Developed in the Scottish Highlands, originally called the Poltalloch Terrier. Colonel Edward Donald Malcolm bred them white so hunters could distinguish them from game. Closely related to Cairn, Scottie, and Dandie Dinmont Terriers. AKC recognized in 1908.
